Philip C. Hecker

Philip C. Hecker has led an impressive and highly diverse career as a CTO and CEO in his 30 years working in the Information Technology, Telecommunications, Medical and Security industries.


He was named Innovator of the Year by CMP Publications for his work in the Long- Term Care Arena. Mr. Hecker has been a key-note speaker at the Medical Group Management Association, Long Term Care Community, COMDEX, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Macworld Expo and National Medical Insurance Underwriters Association. He has guest lectured at JMU, Virginia Tech, VCU and UNC ranging in subjects from economics, medical management, and political science. He has been a principle team member in taking 5 companies to either acquisition or IPO. They range from a color inkjet controller sold to HP, a fingerprint identification system which went to IPO then purchased by a competitor, an IT consulting firm that was sold to a leading CPA firm and the design and engineering of satellite communications systems. He has also worked with numerous government agencies over the years and won awards and commendations for these various efforts.


Additionally, he is a situational awareness expert, firearms expert in the categories of Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun with certifications in all the preceding categories. Finally, he has served as a volunteer counselor, coach and advocate to stop human-trafficking, abuse and suicide for over 25 years.

HPi Certified Training Academy, Inc., is a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certified training school. We are the premier training location in the Virginia region for self-defense, firearms, security, situational awareness. Since 1995, Certified Training Academy has been authorized by DCJS to deliver training to central station dispatchers, electronic security sales representatives, technicians and technician’s assistants, both entry-level and in-service. We are also proud to house the largest panel of NRA-certified instructors in central Virginia.
